Antique Art Nouveau French Hand Painted Porcelain Sterling Silver Dragon Brooch
For your consideration is this Fabulous Antique Art Nouveau French Sterling Silver Dragon Framed and Hand Painted Porcelain Brooch. The brooch is very old and likely dates to the late 1800's. The center of the brooch has a small round. 75 inch piece of porcelain under glass that is hand painted with a lovely depiction of a young child sitting in a garden playing a flute. The small painting is beautifully framed in solid silver with detailed, ornate dragons and crowns. The brooch measures approximately 1.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall with a weight of 9.05 grams. The back of the brooch has a sterling silver, working hook pin clasp. The clasp has hard to make out markings that look like a French Boars head Paris, Silver? In a diamond shape (see photos).
The hand painting does have some minor paint loss, but still has a wonderful depiction! The brooch frame is in fairly good overall condition, with some minor front surface wear and silver dings on the back picture frame case (see photos). The brooch has a Very Nice Overall Presentation and Patina!
