Magnificent Pair of Antique German Meissen hand painted candlesticks, one candlestick depicting a winter season in the form of older gentlemen wearing burgundy color cloth approaching a sitting cherub by the bonfire along with leaf-like & floral motif, the second candlestick probably depicts Spring with young woman playing with cherub while he is adoring a bird, symbolizing coming Summer.
Articles of outstanding & traditional Meissen quality, fantastic rich, strong & solid burgundy, sea blue, red, gentle green & aquamarine colors. Each candlestick supported by circular supporting feet decorated with gilt & yellow colors geometrical design.
Overall very good condition, professional restoration to some tree leafs, older gentlemen leaf wrist, one of the cherubs left foot (please explore close up images), restoration to the supporting bases. No chips, hairlines nor visible damage. Marked: crossed double swords, etched numbers, painted numbers. Each Base diameter of each 4 ¼ in.
